Thank you for visiting the Good Morning Garden, dear friend. Your query has been on this gardener's mind for several weeks. The effort to decipher “God is Love” draws one to a physical comparison by which to address the metaphysical nature of God as love.

Buckminster Fuller said that love is the metaphysical equivalent of gravity in the physical realm, and that fear is the equivalent of radiant energy. Gravity orders, organizes, composes, nurtures, unifies, builds, connects, allows creation and holds everything together. Radiant energy damages, degrades, disorganizes, disposes, destroys, disintegrates, disconnects, separates and degenerates to disorder.

So, God is love means all the above in both realms which are always the flip sides of the same coin.

But this writer would offer this cautionary response to all who seek to understand the nature of God, as do I.

Humans have limits in the physical state that will always be a barrier to fully understanding the nature of God. The reason is that humans are finite and self-centered by nature. As phsical creatures, we would inevitably abuse or misuse such knowlege to the detriment of the physical and metaphysical world.

In that sense, trying to fully understand God in our physical state is the equivalewnt of an ape trying to use and understand a nuclear bomb. (No direct comparison intended;-)

So I would offer the following insight from Emmett Fox for your consideration. And remember, it is more important to fully experience love and God than to fully understand them.

Theoretical Centipede

Do not dissect things too much. By the time you have dissected a living thing you have killed it, and you no longer have the thing that you began with. Take a rose out of the bowl, pull its petal apart, count them, weigh them, measure them, and then, while you will have certain interesting information, you no longer have a rose.

There is a place for analysis, but it is apt to be quite fatal in prayer and meditation. Do not dissect the love of God, but feel it. Do not dissect divine intelligence, but realize it. Do not wonder how God can possibly solve this problem, but just watch Him do it in His own way – and He will if you will give Him a chance.

You know that God is Love. So go ahead on that, and do not get too theoretical about it.

Do you remember the old verse that says:

A centipede was happy quite,
Until a frog in fun
Said, “Pray, which leg comes after which?”
This raised her mind to such a pitch,
She lay distracted in the ditch,
Considering how to run.

The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and shall trust in him: and all the upright in heart shall glory (Psalm 64:10).

PS

Question: How man angels can dance on the head of a pin?

Answer: Angels are not limited by physical realities such as space and time so all of them can dance anywhere at any time and in any place.

Real answer: It doesn’t really matter…just love and appreciate them like the rose’s beauty (which also can not be weighed are measured), without undue concern over issues that do not apply to them.

Peace,
Z

What does it mean to say God is love in a metaphysical sense? I suspect the answer is more difficult than it might seem.
You might be interested in the following post:(http://deligentia.wordpress.com/2009/10/24/deciphering-god-is-love/).

Thank you. It is a joy to hear from you again. As always, it is the author's prayer that these messages are a blessing to any and all. Feel free to use or share as you see fit.

Our gardens are always more joyful when we have more friends with which to share them.

Peace,
Z

i relise that negative thoughts when established in the heart produces negative and immoral attitudes which translates itself to hatred and other works of the flesh.

therefore it is necessary that one should WATCH AND PRAY lest you fall into TEMPTATION

the abomination of desolation is an evil vice that makes people deny godliness and approach life in a perspective view of man which is subject to liability, untrustworthy and lacking truth in every way because the mind of man was not fashioned by man.
as it is written somewhere in the Psalms; i am fearfully and wonderfully made.marvelous are thy works and that my soul knoweth right well

in conclusion the solution the the word of the spirit and life

'' for he law of the Spirit and life in Christ Jesus hath set me free from the law of sin and death.

I'm intrigued. I've always loved the sermon on the mount, which I believe Dallas Willard calls the greatest gift Jesus ever gave besides Himself. I'll be sure to stop by again for more. God bless.

It is a blessing to hear from you again.

Except in religious settings, our society discourages spiritual discussion. Also, discussing our spirituality is intensely personal and goes to root of our deepest dreams, vulnerabilities and fears. Most are just too reserved to expose these areas to scrutiny or discussion.

Also, the evil one uses our insecurities, vanity, pride and ego to alienate us from each other and God by playing on our fear of rejection or ridicule.

How much better we would all be if we realized that all true peace and fulfillment lies within the realm of the spiritual?

Thank you for visiting the Garden and please feel free to share it with anyone. Your kind remarks have shone heaven's light on the author today, and is his prayer that heaven find you here and embrace you forever.

Peace,

I wonder why few comment on the intensely spiritual?

The teaching you've shared on The Lord's Prayer is phenomenal. Heaven is indeed discussing you Z. :)
